2026: The Year of the Fire Horse

Today is the start of the Chinese New Year - the year of the Fire Horse. Today is a day of new beginnings and a fresh start. As a pagan with Chinese ancestry, this is an important time for me to reassess my spirituality and prepare for the year ahead.

Life Lesson From Mavis

As humans, we seem to overcomplicate the meaning of life. However, as I delve deeper into the study of Taoism, I've come to realise that I can learn a lot of the principles and ideals just from observing my 3-year old staffy/Shar pei rescue who seems to have a handle on life. If dogs can go through life without too much trouble, why can't we?

Be Like The River

Taoism has sometimes been described as the Art of Doing Nothing. That doesn't mean one should just sit around the house all day watching television and eating your favourite snacks.  It's about not forcing yourself upon a situation in which you have no control.

The Journey begins

Technically, the journey began about 6 years ago when I found my calling into witchcraft. It took me another year or so to truly find my feet and walk the fire path.

Last year, I lost my way slightly and began a bit of soul searching. Up until then, I had solely concentrated on the pagan side of my spiritual calling. It wasn't until I finally made a realisation that I should really incorporate my Chinese heritage into my practice.

So, here we are. As I've only just started to learn about taoism in general, this blog will essentially be my journey into how I'll work it into my practice as a whole.

I'll try to do a post regularly but I can't promise anything. I'm not a great blogger at the best of times but I intend to rectify that. You know, new year's resolutions and all that jazz ... 😁
